PES 2008 Focus: Animations Comparison

I have spent a bit of time comparing the animations J-League CC (PS2) and PES 2008 over the last couple of days. I find that many of the animations in the new game are near identical to the PS2 version. Most obvious are the shooting and sidestep animations which fail to make the players look lifelike. If new animations were added in general ie. players moving and fighting for space during freekicks (they are static and don’t look for the ball), then I would be a happy chappy.

Here is a short clip showing a couple of animations from both games and it proves that the animation in the next-gen game can be done on the PS2 version.

It may seem like I am bashing the game, but in all honesty, I am only voicing my opinions on what I have seen so far. You can see from the short clip what I am getting at and I think it needs some attention. Don’t we all want to see more lifelike animations so that the players look and act in a more realistic manner?

Best Regards,

Kenny
