Well here is a bit of a surprise. After what was evidently poor reception to PES in Europe, the Japanese have kept with the high scores that usually are accustomed to the series.
Scoring 36/40 overall in the latest issue of Famitsu, there seems to be hope for the series just yet!
But is this score to be taken seriously? Over the years Famitsu has been known for accurate yet critical review scores, more more recently the magazine has become more lenient. Lets hope the score reflects the fact the slowdown has been eradicated. We can dream cant we?!
Yours,
W.E.N.B. Team

I love when the community gets involved and hook us up with some funny shit. Check this one out from my man Copray. Almost wet myself at work, good thing the office was empty at the time otherwise it woudl have been catastrophic! Welcome Mr. Bean to PES 2008!

Funny week to say the least, with a whole host of games coming out tomorrow that are pretty much guaranteed to make you trade in PES 2008 unless they release some sort of Frame-rate and Ping-rate patches! Call Of Duty 4 is already looking like game of the year (for me personally - don't want Halo fans going crazy), and with Crysis, Uncharted and Mass Effect all coming out in under a month I've got alot of gaming to do over Christmas!

Following conversations with our contacts in Konami this afternoon, there is no official comment on any updates for the online lag issues that have hampered PES 2008 since release. Therefore, at this moment in time no further update on when it will arrive.

Having given the game some time now and really tested both versions (comparing demo's only - to be fair) I must say that there isn't much difference between the two. Well not as much as there used to be in previous years. Konami's focus on bringing the two brands closer together to provide worldwide online play seems to be in full flow.

This is the one i'm sure many have been waiting for. The man known as RIOT to many on the boards/forum, is in the building and providing us with major exclusive insight into the world of WE/PES and Konami from a top video game journalist's expert point of view. We are honored to have RIOT on this weeks podcast and we hope that his insight and knowledge help fuel some hungry minds.
